Hi! My name is Nathan Rausa. I was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and grew up in Waterloo, Iowa. I attended the University of Northern Iowa and then transferred to Fort Hays State University to finish up my college football career. I was a placekicker! From Fort Hays State, I signed up for a National Student Exchange Program which brought me to University of Hawai’i Hilo on the beautiful Big Island of Hawai’i. After completing my Bachelor’s Degree as an English Major, I pursued my passion of becoming a Special Education Teacher at University of Hawai’i Manoa. I lived, worked, and played in Hawai’i for five years! I love to surf.
Cardinal Community Academy is a great school with great people as well. I am very grateful to be a part of the CCA community.
In my free time, I like to hike and be around family, friends, and my dog, Koa.
Hello, my name is Virginia Cauthorn. My life began on a farm in Kansas. I loved the lifestyle; even though there were hard times and challenges from Mother Nature. As a youngster, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, so I went to a college called Kansas State Teacher’s College for my preparation. I taught as a reading teacher in grade schools and middle schools in Kansas before I started another adventure in my life. My new adventure was marrying and moving overseas for twelve years due to my husband’s work in the oilfield. While living in Asia and Australia during this time, I was fortunate to experience local cultures, foods, environment, ethnic holidays and celebrations.
After returning to the states, we made our home in Brighton, CO. I taught in Fort Lupton, Brighton, and currently at CCA as a Reading Specialist. It is a pleasure to teach here with less students in the classrooms! CCA is an awesome school with some great teachers and students, and I’m proud to be a part of this learning community.
Hello, my name is Brittney Rupple, and I am a reading specialist at Cardinal Community Academy. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education and later completed a Master’s in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. This is my eighth year in the education field.
Between my three boys and our family farm, there’s rarely a dull moment outside of school. In our spare time, my family enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and pretty much any other activity that takes us outside.
I am thrilled to be part of the team at this incredible school, and I look forward to fostering students’ academic and personal success.
