CCA School Board Elections
Elections are complete and the votes are in.  We wish to thank each of you for taking time to vote.  We had a very good turn out and recognize the time you took out of your busy schedules to participate.

We also wish to thank all of our candidates who were willing to dedicate their time and efforts to make CCA the best it can be.  This is a significant commitment and your participation in the election process is appreciated.

As you all know, it was a difficult choice with four great candidates.  However, at the end of the day you elected Linda Beckel and David Swieter to represent you on the CCA School Board.

Congratulations to Linda and David.

CCA September Board Meeting Highlights
Linda Beckel was designated as a parent representative board member and Laura Hayden was designated as a community member board member.

The “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” was approved as this year’s Christmas Program.

Mike Nelson Visits CCA
On September 15th, CCA was fortunate to have Mike Nelson, chief meteorologist from Channel 7, come visit. Mike held everyone's attention as he told the story of his love for weather from the time he was a young boy. He spoke to the kids about following their passions and dreams to pursue careers they will love. He also spoke about his profession, telling the kids a strong background in math and science is important. Most kids thought his job sounded pretty exciting. He works for hours a day "playing video games" as he calls it to prepare the weather maps for his evening newscasts. All in attendance learned about the jet stream, weather sondes, cold and warm fronts, and in the end, got to witness his "tornado dance." Mike also spoke to the children about "respect," CCA's character trait of the month. It was an exciting morning, and CCA was honored to have such an important community figure speak at our school!

SE Weld County Fair parade
CCA won 2nd place in its category in the Southeast Weld County Fair parade on August 14. In lieu of a float this year, CCA families and teachers pushed and pulled wagons, strollers, etc., down the Keenesburg streets altogether, in keeping with the theme for the parade which was “Pullin’ it all together”.

CCA gets New Sign
Now, when giving directions to CCA you can tell someone to “just look for sign with the red bird” . The new sign was painted by Jim Bahr, and installed by Brent and Cory Huwa next to their sign on the corner of Hwy 52 and WCR 65. Thanks to JIm for painting the CCA sign, as well as repainting the sign above the school entrance after this summers hail damage. Thanks to the Huwa’s for donating the space and installing the sign on their property.
