What’s Happening in 3rd?

Overview

Good Morning,

The first week of December ended up being a different than I anticipated. I ended up sick from Wednesday-Friday last week. Luckily CCA has great staff and they stepped up like always. We changed plans a bit and had our NWEA tests last week. We will do any make-up tests this week. We are going to test DIBELS and get that finished as well. This week I am excited to continue with the normally scheduled routine.

We have the spelling bee and the Christmas concert this week, which will be so fun. We also posted info about our Christmas breakfast which will be next Friday.

Academics

Math:

Chapter 5 covers patterns in multiplication and keeps diving into fact practice.

Fact fluency: Our fact challenge is underway. Students can earn prizes for passing each level of multiplication 0-10’s.

CKLA:

Light and sound domain, where students learn about the qualities of light and sound and how it is all made.

Literacy:

We will read about Light and Sound in our readers.

RIGGS:

Tuesday orthography test, Wednesday Phonograms, Thursday test #130.

Writing:

Opinion Writing.
