This week: |
We will continue to work through Chapter 5 - Multiplying Decimals. We will take a quiz next week and then wrap up anything we didn't get to after break.
Students are struggling a bit with the idea of multiplying by a decimal/decimal fraction results in a smaller "piece of the pie" so we will continue to work through this concept. |
We will continue to work on the Renaissance unit until Christmas Break. We will have to work hard to stay on track to finish the unit with assessment before Christmas break. This is a longer unit that can be tricky for students with a lot of difficult content.
I am requesting that parents help their student with their reading and reading comprehension. They are rushing trying to avoid homework and they aren't grasping content. It is imperative that they read the content multiple times prior to the unit assessment. |
We will wrap up the Feudal Japan content tomorrow and take the unit assessment (open book *NO RETAKES* on Wednesday.
We will spend the remaining days until break working on some fun science experiments! |
With NWEA testing last week and break coming next week - we will introduce Renaissance content specific words, however, we will also use this time to work on other Language Arts skills as well.
New lists are current content based across subjects. Lists will only have 3 words. Students will be required to write each word with markings 4 times each, look up each word in the dictionary (writing down part of speech, page number and proper definition), and writing a sentence using each word correctly. Students struggled again this week with remembering what they are required to do. Please make sure your students remember what they need to do with Riggs assignments to get full credit.
New lists are posted to Parent Square. |
Students continue working on a special project over the next two weeks. If they ask for photos for this project, please feel free to email them to either myself or your student's re3j email. You may also send them to me through ParentSquare or send in hard copies that we can photo copy for use as well.
They will still get lots of practice with paragraph writing in our Renaissance unit. |
