Academics: ***We will NWEA test and Dibels test starting April 28th.*** Thank you for having such amazing students. They are truly doing an outstanding job and continue to be very impressive humans. As a teacher, I use this data to determine: -If your child is on grade level -If they are in need of intervention or an advanced learning plan -How I should group students in order to ensure optimal learning during partner/group projects As a class, I use them to identify: -Any gaps that exist that I need to fill and -Subjects that I can accelerate due to a broad knowledge base. -Identify areas I need to further develop my instruction -Evaluate our curriculum and it's effectiveness in preparing my fourth graders for fifth grade Some may ask, "Isn't that why you do NWEA and Dibels?" I use all three of these assessments together to create a full picture of where your child is on their learning journey.
Thank you and I appreciate your support of our classroom!
CKLA We will wrap up our domain on the American Revolution-your kiddo should be able to identify who some of the heros and villians were. We will be moving into our Social Studies Constitution Domain. In place of a traditional assessment, your child will create a foldable detailing the branches of government that were established and what each one does.
Math We will finish up our fractions chapter this week with an assessment on Wednesday. We will continue our work with decimals and think about how decimals and fractions are related.
Riggs We will resume riggs test with some review lists that center around the book Pollyanna. Tuesday: List 28 Wednesday: List 29 Thursday: List 30 Friday: Spelling Sparkle.
