Here's The Happenings: |
Science: Students have been working hard on their science fair projects! We started their slideshow this week and set up data tables. Students should have their data added to their table by Wednesday next week. This means experiments must be done by that time. This will allow us to graph, analyze, and conclude prior to the last week of the semester. We also started our last unit of Semester 1- pressure and density. This is a short unit that builds on our knowledge of forces. Ask your child about the first streaker- Archimedes and how math determined the quality of the king’s crown!
Homework: Science Fair Data Collection & Slides 1-12, DUE 12/10
Math: Unit 3 (Ch. 2-8th GB)- Transformations This week we worked on our Chapter 2 Review and completed mid-year NWEA testing. We will do our Battleship and test next week. Our next unit on Angles and Triangles will be a quick one that we will continue to work through for the remainder of this semester and beginning of next semester depending on how quickly the students grasp the concepts. All missings/corrections need to be turned in no later than Friday, December 12th.

Social Studies: Students will be learning about the roaring 20’s. They will learn about the Red Scare, women’s right to vote, and prohibition. They will study American music during the Jazz Age, and begin our biography research. |

Then, on Thursday or Friday, they will finalize and make finishing touches.

Missing flags can be removed from the gradebook before pulling eligibility, but assignments may not be graded. Most of the time, they will be graded along with other assignments from the week.
Please remind your athlete that they are expected to check in with their elective teachers/classes for their make-up work, due to leaving for practice and games. Depending on the class, material may need to be self taught using the teacher provided resources. |
