Library BooksPlease have students return all library books by THIS FRIDAY, May 15th! |
Here's The Happenings: |
Science: On Tuesday we will review ecosystems and discuss how renewable and nonrenewable resources become part of the ecosystem, in both good and bad ways. Students will have a final ecosystem project due on Friday, May 15th. We will complete this project in class the week of May 12th.
Homework: Finish research on Renewable and Non-renewable resources.
Math: Chapter 7- Equations and Inequalities Writing equations from word problems have been a bit of a struggle, so that was our focus this last week. Students will be finishing up some different assignments on writing equations this week and testing on Thursday/Friday. If we have time, I want to have discussions about ratios and rates with some fun activities to go along with them. 😄 Homework: One-Step Word Problem Wkst. (annotating, writing the equation, solving)
EC Opportunity: IXL skills- more information will be posted on GC-will be due 5/17- no exceptions All work will be due no later than May 15.
Social Studies: Students will finish up the unit on the industrialization of America. They will review the unit and test midweek. They will also learn about reform in America through Theodore Roosevelt and the women’s voting rights. |

English: 6th grade ELA will be continuing our reading of 90 Miles to Havana over while learning how to write business communication. All work is due no later than May 15th.
Writing & Research: Students will end the morphology unit with a fun project that allows them to apply their knowledge by creating a comic book. Due no later than Friday May 15th.
STEM: Students are wrapping up STEM for the year with a slideshow or website displaying their projects from the school year. I hope to share these with you once they are finished! I am proud of the problem solving growth the students have made this year, and their familiarity with more technology platforms than apps on a cell phone. :) |
