Letter From Administration

Happy Friday, CCA Families!

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful March weather as much as we are here at school! The longer days and sunshine bring a renewed energy, and it’s a perfect time to celebrate our recent accomplishments and look ahead together.

This week was a bit longer for our dedicated staff, as Monday was a professional development day. Part of the day’s training included our annual Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) Training. This important preparation ensures that we are ready to support our students as CMAS testing approaches. CMAS gives us a valuable opportunity to reflect on our teaching and learning, and we appreciate your support during this time. We’ll be sharing more details soon, and you’ll find this year’s testing schedule below. Please do your best to avoid scheduling appointments for your grade 3-8 student(s) during testing times.

On Wednesday, we were proud to host our annual National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Induction Ceremony. Please join us in welcoming our seven new members! With their addition, NJHS now represents 29% of our middle school students—a wonderful achievement that highlights our students’ commitment to academic excellence!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Nighswonger for her years of dedication to NJHS. This year marks her last as the group’s advisor, and we are truly grateful for her commitment. Looking ahead, we are pleased to welcome Ms. Finlayson as our newest NJHS sponsor for the 2026-27 school year. We are excited for her to continue this tradition of excellence.

As we head into the weekend, we hope you enjoy the beautiful weather with your family. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We look forward to seeing you next week!

Team CCA!

From the Board

Happy Friday CCA!

Our next regular board meeting will be next Wednesday, March 25th, at 5:30 pm. You can attend in person or virtually. We will be discussing various topics pertaining to financials, our plan of work, strategic plan, and our comprehensive handbook.

We also will be hosting the Kindergarten Lottery. This year, our roster is already full, so we will only be determining the order of the wait list. For those that are not familiar with how this works, here is an explanation:

The first 15 children who enroll are guaranteed a spot. Everyone else that applies after that is subject to our lottery system where we draw names to determine the order in which they are placed, thus giving everyone an equal opportunity. There are a couple of exceptions:

1. If a child has a sibling who already attends CCA, they will be given priority. The idea behind this is to keep families from having children at multiple schools.

2. If twins both apply to CCA and one has a guaranteed spot, the other will be given priority as well. The same concept applies here with trying to keep families from having to take children to multiple schools.

We will also recieve updates from our various committees. We hope to see you at the meeting.

Have a great weekend!
