Happy Friday, CCA Families!

Today was school picture day, and it was delightful to see all of the students dressed up for their moment in the spotlight. Have you heard your child's "picture name" yet? If not, you should ask him/her; they are quite humorous.

Comfy Day (in lieu of National Binge Day) was a huge hit on Thursday. Kids and staff alike were so cozy, it may have made us all a bit sleepy! Students enjoyed a yummy popcorn snack (because who doesn't love popcorn on a binge-watching day). Staff and several parents received cozy socks to enjoy a comfy day of their own. So much fun! Be watching for next month's special celebration day...
FYI: 
  • News to share: Mrs. Elizabeth Herman came through her surgery beautifully. We are so happy for her and her family and can't wait to see her brightening our hallways again very soon.
  • NO TOYS/FIDGETS: Per CCA Handbook: "Students should not bring personal items, such as balls, cards, toys, electronic games, radios, I-pods, etc. to school except for the purpose of class displays, show and tell, and other educational purposes as directed by the teacher." - Since the problem has continued, items that are confiscated from students may not be returned. Exceptions may be made for students with specialized learning plans ONLY IF these items are being used in a way specified by the learning plan.
  • Tardy Bell 7:25 a.m.: Please be sure students are here before 7:25 a.m. Once the Tardy Bell rings, parents MUST come inside to sign students in. We have given a lot of grace recently with students running in right after the Tardy Bell, but that takes away from the time our support staff should be inside working with students. Tardies will be more strictly enforced moving forward. Thank you for understanding.
  • Fall Break: No school next week - Enjoy the break and extra time with your kiddos!

Volunteer at CCA

**For the safety of students, staff, and visitors, please check in with our friendly office crew when you arrive at CCA so that we are able to account for all in the event of unforeseen circumstances.**

Fall Festival planning is underway with PTO. If you missed the first planning meeting, not to worry! Just contact one of our fabulous PTO officers to find out more. ccapto@re3j.com 

Thank you to all of the parents and community members who have been volunteering in our classrooms! It is great to see the involvement and interactions between these generous volunteers and the students. 

Many opportunities to volunteer at CCA are available, so please reach out to the teachers or our friendly Office Crew with any questions.

State of the District

CCA is excited to be participating in the State of the District celebration on September 30. 

The State of the District Event will celebrate students, schools, and the community. Each school, including CCA, will host a table highlighting great things happening at the school. CCA students will be highlighted int he district video. Information about where the district is currently and where we are headed will be shared. Food trucks will be on site. It is sure to be a fun and informative evening. Please plan to join us on September 30 from 4:00-6:30 p.m.
