Welcome to the Library!

CCA is honored to offer fun literacy programs for our students. This year we will have lots of fun new reading challenges that encourage reading new books, spending time with others, and combining reading with art, music, and games to increase understanding and appreciation for books. Check back often to hear about the latest challenge!

Library Happenings

Bookmobile will be here on September 12th, 13th, and 14th. If your middle school student is interested in attending the Bookmobile on September 14th, they will need to sign up for it in the school library and make sure that they have their library card number on file with Miss Kilsch.

The September reading challenge is a Genre Bingo activity with different difficulty levels for each grade. To complete this activity and receive a prize, students must read and fill in their sheet in order to create at least one Bingo in any direction. Extra Bingo's will receive a to-be-determined extra prize (not from the prize box). Challenges are due the week of September 26th. See the carousel to the left to get a copy of the challenge.

The Reading Cafe Middle School Challenge is in full swing! The first Cafe will be on November 3rd. Reading Cafe sheets are due October 27th. See the carousel to the left to get a copy of the challenge.

About the Librarian

Hello! My name is Sarah Kilsch and this is my second year acting as the librarian, and my sixth year of working at Cardinal. Ever since my sister started school at Cardinal in the sixth grade, I've been heavily involved in volunteering and eventually joined the staff. I went to Aims Community College and graduated with my Associate's Degree for Early Childhood Education, and hope to continue growing in the ECE field.

Books are and always have been everything to me, and I love nothing more than to bury myself in a story. I am so excited to share my love of reading and the art of storytelling with all of the students at CCA, and help them to find their next great adventure between the pages.

Outside of the workplace, I love reading (if that wasn't obvious enough), writing, journaling, playing cards, board games, spending time with my father and sister, and leaping headfirst into the next story.
